Holiday Shopping In Collingswood Will Put (Collingswood) Cash In Your Pocket

Back by popular demand, Collingswood is bringing back its Cash promotion aimed to put Collingswood Cash in your pocket.

Starting Monday Nov. 22, shoppers who purchase $50 in Collingswood Cash (the borough’s equivalent to a mall gift card) will receive $70 to spend anywhere in town. For every $50 spent, they will receive an additional $20. All shoppers can do this up to a total of $500, which means $200 in free cash is available for those who want to shop in Collingswood’s downtown borough business area.

According to Collingswood Mayor Mayor Jim Maley, “It brings people to town in droves and gets them to shop for the holidays here. Over three years, this promotion will bring roughly $750,000 to Collingswood businesses.”

In previous years, the promotion sold out in just hours. Lines formed around selling locations in town. The town allots $40,000 to give away and the bonus cash is first come, first served. This year, the bonus cash will go on sale November 22, before the Borough’s largest holidays events of the season.

Collingswood Cash is sold year round at face value, but it is a staple of the small town’s shopping season allowing buyers to get creative with spending the bonus money.  Certificates are honored at all restaurants and retail establishments in town and are subject to restrictions (for more information on restrictions, visit http://www.collingswood.com/shopping/collingswood-cash).

Collingswood Cash and bonus cash come with a holiday coupon book from local businesses deepening discounts. The promotion is limited to the season and quantity.

Collingswood Cash can be purchased at the following locations:

• Collingswood Borough Hall, 678 Haddon Ave. from 9 am to 4:30 pm,

• 1st Colonial National Bank, 1040 Haddon Ave. whose lobby hours are 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday

• Sun National Bank, 627 Haddon Ave. whose lobby hours are 8:30 am – 6 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8:30 am – 7 pm Thursday and Friday, 8:30 am – 1 pm on Saturday and 10 am – 1 pm on Sunday.

So if you missed the holiday promotion last year, now is your chance to get something back for spending in Collingswood.
